What it takes to make a DC-7 fly! Here’s Delta’s last and largest propeller plane, the 70-passenger Douglas DC-7, with the field personnel and ramp equipment needed to get it ready to go after a stop in Atlanta.
At least 21 people and 22 pieces of ramp equipment rushed into action when the big plane touched the runway. Equipment used included two gas trucks; air conditioner; a catering truck; fork lift; motorized energizer; tugs and carts for luggage, mail express, and freight; fire extinguisher cart; a tug pulling fresh water tank; tug pulling ADI tank; an engine work stand for line maintenance and more.
