Noma in Copenhagen was voted the best restaurant in the world for 2 consecutive years. It has just been voted the second best restaurant in the world this year, which is still a fantastic result. It’s a unique restaurant specializing in Nordic cooking.
Things to do:
Tivoli is a magical place in the middle of Copenhagen, opened in 1843. Fun rides, beautiful gardens, Live music every Friday in the summer and delightful restaurants. Children and adults alike love this place.
Did you know Legos were born in Denmark? Located in Billund in Jutland, Legoland is hard to miss if you are in those parts of the country. There is high-speed action and excitement for the whole family. Legoland also has it’s own hotel with Lego-themed rooms. Who hasn’t heard of Legos? :)
Unique things in Denmark
There are more bicycles in Denmark, than there are people. Denmark is the world number 1 cycling country. With over 12,000km of sign-posted cycle routes, gentle terrain, inspirational nature and short distances between amenities. Denmark is a country made for cyclists. It’s safe, easy and great fun.
The famous open-faced sandwiched made exclusively here in Denmark. For a tourist it’s a must-try. Have a snaps with a sandwich with fish. -It swims better in snaps :)
Hans Christian Andersen:
The world famous fairy tale writer. He is one of the most famous Danish people of all times. And his stories have been read to children all around the world. One of the most famous is the story of the little mermaid.
Hopefully this gave you a little idea of Denmark and the fun and exiting things to see/do/read about here. -Pia
