Delta Dedication // Meet Ron B.
By: Taking Off
Meet our employee, Ron. Ron has been with Delta for 55 years. He’s the definition of dedication. Ron started his journey at Delta as a Ramp Service agent, now he’s a Senior Analyst in our Information Technology department.
Here are a few insights on Ron’s journey with Delta:
1. Describe your love for Delta in one sentence.
I love what I do (daily tasks), who I do it with (my coworkers) and who I do it for (my management), especially the current executive leadership.
2. What’s your most vivid and/or favorite memory you have during your 55 years at Delta?
Having a personal sit-down meeting with Mr. Woolman in his office – he had the same desk then as Richard uses today (the last time I was in there).
3. What was it like to know Mr. Woolman?
Talking with him was like talking with your grandfather. He was obviously a man of character, ethics and he valued his employees like they were his children – thus, the “Delta Family” term was created. He was a master at knowing how to motivate his employees in a positive manner through appreciation, recognition and compensation. These three motivational qualities were always balanced.
4. What is your all-time favorite aircraft?
The original Convair 880 (painted white all over [top and bottom] and all first class seating – plus the speed of a jet fighter (715MPH).
5. Biscoff? Peanuts? Or pretzels?
